Lisa Naves Dance Company brings its sterling reputation to Cainsville by expanding to Brantford with a second location.
Owned by Lisa Naves-Abonyi and directed by Vicki Fletcher, the new Brantford dance studio offers quality instruction in all forms of dance (ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics, hip-hop and contemporary/lyrical) as well as both recreational and competitive programs. Additional instructors include Natalie Petrella, Rob Jensen and Cintia Cunha-Hamer. Together, the founding faculty of LNDC Brantford boasts more than a century of combined teaching experience. Classes are offered for children ages 3 to 18.
Located in a brand-new building in Cainsville, this 5300 square-foot facility will include three studios with quality mirrors, floors and high ceilings, change rooms, viewing/lounge areas and a reception area.
Naves-Abonyi, who began her dance teaching career in Brantford, is excited to build on the structure, discipline and high expectations that have helped her original Simcoe studio earn its sterling reputation. “Twenty-five years later, I am so excited to return to my roots and create a dance space with high expectations and a deep passion for the gift of dance,” says Naves-Abonyi. Her students have gone on to work in film and TV, dance on Broadway, in the Stratford Festival, Mirvish Productions and for major ballet institutions such as Canada’s National Ballet School.
Naves-Abonyi will oversee the execution of the dance curricula, while Vicki Fletcher will oversee the overall artistic direction of the studio and the competitive program. Fletcher, who has more than 35 years’ experience teaching and choreographing in the Brantford area, also serves as an adjudicator and a course conductor/examiner for Acrobatic Arts.
Lisa Naves Dance Company Brantford will open its doors in mid-September at 18 Papple Road, Brantford.
